Which level applies to you?

Every applicant must qualify under one of two levels. The level you qualify under determines how quickly you can apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain — the UK's permanent residency.

Established Leader

Exceptional Talent

For professionals who are already recognised as established leaders in their field — nationally or internationally. Strong track record of achievement, impact, and recognition over a sustained period. Evidence must be substantive and independently verifiable.

Emerging Leader

Exceptional Promise

For professionals who show strong potential to become future leaders — earlier in their career but with a demonstrable track record of impact and recognition. The evidential bar is somewhat lower, but still rigorous.

ILR eligibility: after 5 years

Fast-track route: If you hold an eligible prestigious prize listed in the Home Office's Appendix Global Talent: Prestigious Prizes, you can skip the endorsement stage entirely and apply directly for the visa. The Prestigious Prizes list was expanded in the March 2026 Statement of Changes to cover a wider range of awards in architecture, design, and the broader creative sectors.

The Global Talent Visa has a two-stage fee structure — endorsement first, then the visa application. You also pay the Immigration Health Surcharge upfront based on the length of visa granted.

Step-by-Step Process

From assessment to entry clearance

Profile Evaluation & Track Selection

We assess your professional background against all three tracks — Arts, Technology, and Academia — and identify your strongest endorsement pathway. We also assess whether you qualify under Exceptional Talent or Exceptional Promise, and whether any fast-track prestigious prize routes apply to your profile.

1–2 weeks

Evidence Strategy & Portfolio Building

We build your endorsement portfolio — selecting and structuring up to 10 pieces of evidence that directly map to the endorsing body's published criteria. This is where most applications succeed or fail. Vague or mismapped evidence is the leading cause of refusal at endorsement stage.

4–6 weeks

Recommendation Letters

We advise on the selection of your three referees and guide the content of the recommendation letters. For Arts and Academia tracks, we identify whether a UK-based referee is necessary for your specific field and endorsing body. For Technology, we identify the strongest international referees.

2–4 weeks

Stage 1 — Endorsement Application Submission

We submit your complete endorsement application to the relevant body — Arts Council England, the designated tech endorsing body, or one of the four research bodies. The £524 endorsement fee is paid at this stage.

Processing: 4–8 weeks

Endorsement Decision

The endorsing body assesses your application and makes a recommendation to the Home Office. If endorsed, you receive an endorsement letter and have 3 months to proceed to the visa application. If refused, an administrative review is possible in some cases.

4–8 weeks from submission

Stage 2 — Visa Application to UK Home Office

With endorsement in hand, we submit your visa application to the UK Home Office. The £192 visa fee is paid at this stage, along with the Immigration Health Surcharge for the full visa period. Biometrics are enrolled at a visa application centre.

3–6 weeks processing

Entry Clearance & UK Arrival

Upon visa approval, you receive an eVisa linked to a UKVI account. You can enter the UK and begin living and working freely — without employer ties, minimum salary requirements, or job restrictions within your designated field.

It depends on the track. For Arts & Culture, a UK-based referee is typically expected or strongly preferred by Arts Council England. For Digital Technology, there is no UK requirement — all three referees can be international provided they have strong industry credibility. For Academia and Research, at least one UK-based referee is usually expected on the standard route, though fast-track routes for grant holders and fellows may have different requirements.

How quickly can I get ILR and British citizenship? +

On the Exceptional Talent track, you can apply for ILR (Indefinite Leave to Remain) after 3 years of continuous lawful residence in the UK. On the Exceptional Promise track, it is 5 years. After ILR, British citizenship can be applied for after a further 12 months. This means the minimum timeline from first entering the UK to British citizenship is approximately 4 years on the Exceptional Talent track — one of the fastest citizenship timelines available for non-EU professionals.

Can I apply for UK Global Talent and UAE Golden Visa at the same time? +

Yes — the two processes are entirely independent. Many professionals based in Dubai pursue the UAE Golden Visa for long-term regional stability while simultaneously applying for the UK Global Talent Visa. Holding a UAE Golden Visa does not affect or restrict a UK visa application in any way.
