Immigrants do not stay in the UK after the visa expires

it is certainly required by the government’s authorities for immigrants to keep within the terms and conditions of their visas. Whether you are in the UK on a short-term, long-term, family, work, study, investment, business, or visitor visa, staying in the country past the expiry date can have serious consequences; especially since the application system is now electronic and that would make it impossible for a person to overstay their welcome in the country and go unnoticed.

uk immigration policy 2022

by the time one’s visa date expires, the person would have a 30-day limit to leave the country voluntarily and on their own. Not following the rules stated might cause a man to be unable to reenter the country and acquire a visa for the second time; since they are already registered as an overstayer in the system. Overstaying your authorized period of leave will be taken into consideration in any future UK immigration applications.

What happens after creating restrictions on visas?

In addition, if you have had your visa shortened (known as curtailment) by the Home Office unless you leave by the new earlier date, you will be classed as an overstayer. This might apply, for example, if you held a work visa but your sponsoring employer lost their sponsorship status. In this case, all workers sponsored by the employer may have their work visas curtailed.

In order to avoid overstaying your visa limits, you would have to extend your stay and then you will not be classified as an overstayer for the time the process of renewing your visa is running. Under the current rules, for late applications, the Home Office will disregard a period of overstaying provided you apply for a new visa, or renewal of your existing visa, within 14 days of your previous visa expiring, and that you can evidence ‘good reason’ for having overstayed your visa permission.

The newly updated immigration act states that a person who stays in the UK beyond the time of their visa validation or in other ways fails to meet the conditions of their leave may be charged for an offense and will be punished by paying a certain amount of fine or even being imprisoned for up to 4 years.
